MILAN HAVE been drawn in Group C of the Champions League with Zenit, Anderlecht and Malaga.
Milan have learned their Champions League fate today as the group stage draw was held in Monaco. The Rossoneri have been drawn to Group C with FC Zenit St. Petersburg, R.S.C. Anderlecht and Malaga CF.
Not an easy group for Milan but not so hard either as Milan are clearly the favourites to qualify to the eight-final of the Champions League as they hope to replicate last year’s achievements in the competition.
Report: Milan make formal De Jong bid
Bojan: “Milan move another step forward”
Milan were in Pot 1 along with Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Porto drawn. The Rossoneri have been drawn to Group C along with Russian champions Zenit which is coached by Luciano Spalletti, Belgian champions Anderlecht and the Spanish side Malaga.
Milan have in fact never faced Malaga before while it’ll be interested to see how Milan cope with the two champions of this group. The other groups are interesting too: Juventus have been drawn with reigning Champions Chelsea, Shakhtar Donetsk and Nordsjaelland. Group of Death is a great one as it features the champions of Spain, England, Holland and Germany: Real Madrid, Man City, Ajax and Dortmund.
Winning the Champions League is not a realistic goal for Massimiliano Allegri’s boys, however Europe’s elite surprise is full of surprises and Milan have certainly got a more convenient group this time.
The dates of the games: First match: Milan-Anderlecht (18th of September). Second match: Zenit-Milan (3rd of October). Third match: Malaga-Milan (24th of October). Fourth match: Milan-Malaga (6th if November). Fifth game: Anderlecht-Milan (21st of November). Sixth match: Milan-Zenit (4th of December).
Group A: Porto, Dynamo Kiev, Paris Saint-Germain, Dinamo Zagreb.
Group B: Arsenal, Schalke, Olympiakos, Montpellier.
Group C: Milan, Zenit, Anderlecht, Malaga.
Group D: Real Madrid, Manchester City, Ajax, Borussia Dortmund.
Group E: Chelsea, Shakhtar Donetsk, Juventus, Nordsjaelland.
Group F: Bayern Munich, Valencia, Lille, BATE Borisov.
Group G: Barcelona, Benfica, Spartak Moscow, Celtic.
Group H: Manchester United, Braga, Galatasaray, Cluj.

August 30th, 2012 on 7:43 pm
Easy group on paper but then again, we couldn’t beat Sampdoria so I wouldn’t get too excited lol
August 30th, 2012 on 7:44 pm
Seeding advantage,we should qualify easily,bt need to top d group.
August 30th, 2012 on 7:45 pm

August 30th, 2012 on 7:48 pm
Malaga might cause an upset…
August 30th, 2012 on 7:50 pm
seems like UEFA was considerate of Milan’s current situation haha
August 30th, 2012 on 7:51 pm
easy group? i fear zenith so much and half of that reason is because Luciano Spalleti is a damn good coach? I also think Malaga is a potential banana peel for us. Anyway, since Allegri said our target was to make it out of the group stage in UCL i guess he should be happy
August 30th, 2012 on 7:52 pm
thk God we avoided d big guns! I believe we will get competitive as d ssn advances, just like in d leo era. But we need to b weary of zenit and malaga, they arf potential banana skins. Forza milan!
August 30th, 2012 on 7:53 pm
Great draw for I Rossoneri! Somewhat makes up for the last several years when we drew Barca and RMadrid! And this year we badly needed a good draw.
Forza Milan!
August 30th, 2012 on 7:59 pm
Hope we top this one!
August 30th, 2012 on 7:59 pm
Wow! Thank God we avoided P.S.G. We should at least come out second in this group.
August 30th, 2012 on 7:59 pm
Wow! Thank God we avoided P.S.G and Man. City. We should at least come out second in this group.
August 30th, 2012 on 8:01 pm
Thank God finally a easy group! We should top the group hopefully.
August 30th, 2012 on 8:02 pm
@ben,not uefa consideration.
We have preference for reaching quater final last year.
August 30th, 2012 on 8:03 pm
If anyone else was watching the draw, could you tell me if either Galliani or Allegri were present? I don’t think Mourinho was there either, or Mancini. With talks in session for De Jong and the persistent Kaka rumours, could it be that these deals are being negotiated right now? It’s going to be very interesting right up to the close of the current transfer window.
August 30th, 2012 on 8:04 pm

August 30th, 2012 on 8:18 pm
For ONCE we have an easy group in CL. Well it’s not easy as all teams in CL can cause an upset but, I mean not facing one of the so called “top teams”. So I’m satisfied,
we should not underestimate the teams though, Zenit is the toughest of them all. But with De jong and an extra signing (Kaka please) we can become a force to reckon with this season! Keep the faith!
Forza Milan!
August 30th, 2012 on 8:19 pm
There us nothing easy in this group. We all forgot that our team this season is not as strong as last season. I hope we can do a last day swoop for Kaka or Nene.
August 30th, 2012 on 8:21 pm
This group gave us a breathing space, hope we would av gotten to shape before meeting tougher opponents
August 30th, 2012 on 8:25 pm
But only this time we say thank you to UEFA but lets see how far we’ll go.FORZA MIlAN,see ‘em inda knock out stage
August 30th, 2012 on 8:28 pm
Great draw 4 Milan, But does anyone feel sorry 4 AJAX ???????? 3yrs in a row matched with Madrid in the group stage and now they’re in the group of Champions, as i call it, or the group of death if u like. Milan have 2 much quality not to win the group against these teams. Trust me when i say Zenit is the toughest team to play in this group. Not because of spaletti but because of the russian winter. Teams dred going to russia. Malaga have Isco but lost cazorla and rondon and that’s 2 huge pieces. Kiev don’t worry me at all, Tawio starts 4 them so we know thier backline can be exposed. Anderlecht too young and rebuilding also
August 31st, 2012 on 9:45 am
dos were my 1st words when Ajax was drawn in group D..but this is d Champions League!!! N yeah i agree..the russian winter is harsh…dats wat scares me a lil..hope v play zenit away game early and not in Nov n Dec..
August 30th, 2012 on 8:35 pm
MILAN CL WINNERS 2013 . Sorry for being so blunt .
August 30th, 2012 on 9:02 pm
it is possible Milan can do it FORZA MILAN
August 30th, 2012 on 9:08 pm
milan should change their style of play otherwise they wont go anywhere at all.allegri should go if he cant help milan play good football with more fluidity and less rigidity.
August 30th, 2012 on 9:45 pm
Simple group on paper,i hope they don’t disappoint us and disqualify for 1 of d mst easiest group,if dat happen it would be a huge shame.
August 30th, 2012 on 9:53 pm
fifa were just bin considerate we should b grateful they knw our present situation and dey want us to gain back our form b4 we can play big teams.so all we nid is team work and determination
August 30th, 2012 on 10:05 pm
And again, this thing buggles m,y is it dat man utd re always paired up with simple opponents every year, das y am proud of Milan,no matter how difficult d group is nd no mata hw bad we re we do qualify even if it is d group of hell talkless of death
August 30th, 2012 on 10:09 pm
Thank God 4 this milan grup but we need to work had to get ontop d grup. God help us. MILAN AL THE WAY
August 30th, 2012 on 10:26 pm
Do you think we were seeded because the refs gave barca a gift in last year’s QF?
August 30th, 2012 on 11:00 pm
the group is okey 4 milan, i wish them top firnished
August 30th, 2012 on 11:03 pm
Everybody is happy about the group, but we shouldn’t 4get it is a champions league group it cant triky. Where is Gallian? I leant he is not in italy where could he be? Gallian pls come out.
August 30th, 2012 on 11:13 pm
The group which has Real Madrid, Man City, BVB and Ajax would be the most interesting from a sporting point of view
August 30th, 2012 on 11:56 pm
This is said – Allegri said the objective is to come out of the group – I miss Milan when objective was winning the CHampions League, Italia League and Italian Cup. Those days are over.
August 31st, 2012 on 1:26 am

August 31st, 2012 on 4:18 am
Nice draw.
How result in draw D & E
August 31st, 2012 on 11:37 am
i feel pity for thiago silva, this milan will surprise a lot of people & he could’ve captained it to greatness. we lack creativity in mid but de jong is certainly comfortable on the ball, a last minute surprise signing can still happen & hopefully its a cam, preferrably kaka. gaston ramirez is unhappy at bologna & he can add some creativity as well.
