CESARE PRANDELLI has decided to take a young squad, with 5 players of Milan featuring in the squad.
Prandelli has released his squad for Wednesday friendly against England on Friday and it includes many young players, including five men of the Rossoneri – some of them being called-up for the first time.
The Italy boss was unable to call-up players from Juventus and Napoli because of the Supercoppa Italiana, so he went with a young squad and he’s ready to give players – some are teenagers – their debut.
Ambrosini: “Milan two levels below the great clubs”
Galliani: “Allegri made a mistake, I’m pissed!”
Prandelli has decided to take five players from Milan. Ignazio Abate (25) has become a regular for Italy and featured in the 2012 Euro in Poland and Ukraine. A more surprising call-up is that of Mattia De Sciglio (19) who has been impressive for Milan lately. Still in defense, Milan’s Francesco Acerbi (23) got a call-up too.
The former Fiorentina coach has left Riccardo Montolivo and Antonio Cassano out, but Antonio Nocerino (27) will be part of the squad to face The Three Lions. Stephan El Shaarawy (19) will be hoping to make his debut for the national team as well and he’s also part of the squad. Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti, Pescara’s Mattia Perin and Manchester City’s Super Mario Balotelli are also part of the squad.
The full Italy squad for England match (August 15):
Goalkeepers: Andrea Consigli (Atalanta), Mattia Perin (Pescara), Salvatore Sirigu (Paris Saint Germain);
Defenders: Ignazio Abate (Milan), Francesco Acerbi (Milan), Davide Astori (Cagliari), Federico Balzaretti (Roma), Mattia De Sciglio (Milan), Daniele Gastaldello (Sampdoria), Angelo Obinze Ogbonna (Torino), Federico Peluso (Atalanta);
Midfielders: Alberto Aquilani (Fiorentina), Daniele De Rossi (Roma), Alessandro Diamanti (Bologna), Antonio Nocerino (Milan), Andrea Poli (Sampdoria), Ezequiel Schelotto (Atalanta), Marco Verratti (Paris Saint Germain);
Strikers: Mario Barwuha Balotelli (Manchester City), Mattia Destro (Roma), Stephan El Shaarawy (Milan), Manolo Gabbiadini (Atalanta)

hope Shaarawy and De Sciglio makes an impression

Is Montolivo injured or something? He didn’t play against Madrid and now he’s not been called up for Italy.
August 10th, 2012 on 10:01 pm
yeah, he’s injured, but it’s a minor thing, he should be able to play against Juve
August 10th, 2012 on 9:38 pm
Alot of young players. I luv prandelli’s belief in italy’s next generation
August 10th, 2012 on 9:49 pm
@Ryan
so right bro! The juve squad spoiled the euro 2012 run (i am talkin about chiellini, and he hasn’t finished his sleep Bonucci) i am hoping for a win against the ‘number three’, England, in the world.
Forza Italia!!

Why leave out fabio borini of Liverpool?. Also Monty is not fully fit that’s why he was left out. Love the youth system by Prandelli anyway.
August 10th, 2012 on 10:08 pm
Yeap Borini should be in rather than Gabbiadini.
August 10th, 2012 on 10:11 pm
yeah, finally italy is realising that they have to develop their youngsters if they want to stay as one of the major footballing nations

I’m very happy for them all! It’s nice to have Acerbi there, but I’m especially happy for El Shaarawy and De Sciglio! I mean, De Sciglio came on when we were thrashed by madrid, this will be good for his confidence, hopefully he will get to play as well!
Well not only important for his confidence but also for el shaarawy and Acerbis, so they know that their hard work is paying off and is not going unnoticed!
This will be important for their growth (Stephan, De Sciglio and Acerbi) so they get more international experience. I wish them all the best! Good luck!
Forza Milan!

Wow. Where have I have been? I just found out that Balzaretti moved to Roma for only 4.5 million. Wish we could have picked him up!
August 11th, 2012 on 1:07 am
he didn’t want to come to Milan… said something like CL is too much pressure for him… I know, that’s total nonsense (I mean, the guy played in Euros. with the national team. the pressure there should be at least close to that of the CL, if not more), but whatever at least we don’t have a player who doesn’t want to be here
August 11th, 2012 on 2:04 am
@bone
that just has to b d wy forward. Milan is towing dt path at d moment.
August 11th, 2012 on 2:54 am
seriously we need to give didac vila a chance i mean antonini is good but isn’t really good at defending and hes getting old now, we also have mesbah who is quick and has good dribbling and control but again he is a terrible defender… didac vila is a much better defender then antonini, mesbah even taiwo… i would be extremely disappointed if we end up selling him
August 11th, 2012 on 7:08 am
Italy’s youth is actually the best in the world coming to think of it, insigne, shaarawy, balo, verrati, destro, giovinco, borini etc they’re all world class! Italy is safe for the next decade, what isn’t safe is our milan!
August 11th, 2012 on 3:04 pm
Nice that we’ve agreed with wages, I don’t think that was a problem really. Hope he arrives real soon.

Brazil is losing to Mexico 1-0
Gabriel failed in goal and Pato is in the bench.
August 11th, 2012 on 9:17 pm
Rumour mill:
There are some Walter Gargano to Milan rumours lately
Galatasaray are trying to sign Kaka
We’ve agreed on wages with Kaka (5mil) but Mourinho doesn’t want to let him go unless we pay up 20-25mil straight
Anzhi are preparing a 28mil bid for Boateng. They’re said to have already offered him a lucrative deal
now concerning other teams:
poli seems set to sign for Juve, but he will arrive there next summer (he’ll spend this season at Sampdoria)
Inter want both De Jong and Gaston Ramirez to complete their transfer campaign
August 11th, 2012 on 4:24 pm
getting gargano would be great.
