THIAGO SILVA is very pleased with Milan’s performance against Arsenal but already looks forward.
The Rossoneri hosted Arsenal at Stadio San Siro on Wednesday night and there was only one team on the pitch. Milan annihilated Arsene Wenger’s men and now have a very big advantage for the return leg.
Milan excelled in the attack with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho in top form as well as Kevin-Prince Boateng who returned from injury, but Massimiliano Allegri’s defense line neutralised Van Persie and co.

Milan-Arsenal: Official line-ups
“At the end of the game to make these important and useful tackles is great,” Brazilian defender Thiago Silva told the Milan channel after the comprehensive 4-0 victory over the North London side. “It’s great to help the team. We played like the coach showed us. The week has been perfect and the game was as well.
“We played well but the return is a different game and we’ll look to win there as well. It’s possible to put these emotions behind you and focus on the league and that’s what we have to do. We showed that is we play together we’ll win. But we have to put this result to one side because it won’t be easy at Cesena.” Milan are currently top of the league, +1 over Juventus who drew Parma on Wednesday to make it a perfect day.
Thiago’s partner in defense Philippe Mexes who didn’t look good in Milan’s 1-2 win over Udinese on Saturday but had a brilliant game against Arsenal, is also happy with the result but says it’s not yet over.
“Everything gets easier when the team plays like this. We have to keep on going like this as we have the chance to do great things. 4-0 at home is great but we have to stay focused that’s the only way to do it. I’ll do all I can to repay the faith shown in me,” the Frenchman said in an interview with Milan Channel last night.
“I didn’t expect such as big result, but for how we prepared for the game, we knew that we could get a result. We did well to play high up the field and not to let them play. The whole team did well. History shows us that we have to go there and play the same game that we played on Wednesday,” added left-back Luca Antonini who had a very decent game, taking on quick wingers like Walcott & Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
“We’re not so interested in Juventus’ game (with Parma), we were focused on the Champions League and now we’ll turn to the league. We have to go one game at a time. Cesena are a tough team at home and we’ll have to be good to get ahead as we’ve played a lot lately. The President [Mr. Silvio Berlusconi] is right and we all know it. We’re on course for three trophies and we have the obligation to try and win all three.”
Milan play again on Sunday noon at Stadio Dino Manuzzi against Cesena (kick off time 15:00 CET).

It was an entertaining week. We just have to keep the emotions behind us as TS33 as said.
Now, Cesena, here we come.
February 16th, 2012 on 2:32 pm
All i need for the rest of the week is a Milan win against Cesena, and another Juve draw against Catania. That would be a really perfect week for us.

What a defender! T.Silva is a great defender.I really wish milan signs dede of vasco da gama as replacement for yepes who i think it’s high time he left.
February 16th, 2012 on 4:26 pm
Ha, the defense played so well I do not remember him having to make 2 important tackles. I was very impressed with what I say from that entire back line, especially Mexes. I even though Antonini defended well.
Great job by these guys.

well done, TS33. but remember, milan have not won anything this season. still milan need to improve tactically. i don’t like the way milan played in the last 10 minutes after they lead 4-0. loading the penalty box with 4 defenders and 4 midfielders without marking arsenal player(s) who brought the ball is unacceptable. lucky, milan did not concede any goals. be careful, milan team. a goal on away game might change everything. keep the steps on earth. forza milan!

We still need to improve tactically? Wow, way to complain about everything. We still had two chances after going to 4-0… one of which Pato should have scored. Seriously, give credit where it is deserved for once!
And Milan was marking till the end. Milan could have gone up 5-0 or 6-0 towards the end.

I would like to think that for now TSilva is the best defender anywhere and also he is beginning to become the SYMBOL of Milan. He is a Brazilian with outstanding talent amazing prowess and yet humble, but I would expect some things bigger from him off the field. He is the perfect role model for Pato, SES and also Merkel. He should take these guys under his wings and teach them the nuances of being a strong player.I had read a fact about Dinho’s influence on MESSI, The episode is very touching where its known that Messi did not own a pair of jeans but only wore his training outfit when he was in the lower ranks of Barca, until he met Dinho who took him under his wings and taught him about life and football, when Dinho moved to Milan even Messi wanted to follow him unfortunately PEP put brakes on that move.I am not asking Silva to buy a pair of jeans for these guys but try to teach them the nuances of being excellent in whatever they do. If you don’t trust me read the below link.http://www.totalbarca.com/2010/news/ronaldinhos-departure-made-messi-grow-up/

Haha on the return leg all we need is one away goal and arsenal have to win 6-1 to get past us, nesta+Silva still the best partnership in my opinion but having mexes as rotation makes me feel so comfortable
