THIAGO SILVA is fired up ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Arsenal and says they can’t go wrong.

The most interesting game of this year’s Champions League eight finals stage takes place tomorrow when Milan host the Gunners at Stadio San Siro and the teams will soon finish all of the preparations.

Milan defender Thiago Silva is aware of Arsenal’s qualities, but says the big games are extra motivation as he’s keen to beat Arsenal in the two-legged clash and go through to the next stage of the Champions.

Milan-Arsenal: The Rossoneri squad

“The 3 points won against Udinese were very important. We hadn’t played well in the first half, we made too many mistakes. In this game against Arsenal we have to make as few mistakes as possible. We play 180 minutes, if we get it wrong at home then we are out and so we have to stay really focused,” Thiago said.

“Arsenal are a great team and we have to watch everyone not just Van Persie. We have to watch all the players because they are all quality. When you play against the bigger teams it always lifts your game and this match will be a top level match. Hopefully we can play our game and do well in defence even when we have possession of the ball in attack. This is something we need to work on and we have been in training.

“Henry? He’s done so much, not just with Arsenal but also with France. He’s a great player and we’ll have to keep a close eye on him. If he gets space he will score. Van Persie? I don’t know if I’ll stop him, we’ll see.

“We need to enter the match with a focused frame of mind and the future will tell us what happens. Arsenal have a great squad of players, but so do we. It will be a great spectacle for the public, we hope to do well tomorrow also so that we can ease the pressure on ourselves for the second leg, but we know either Van Persie or Henry could decide the match in one moment,” added the 27-year-old Brazilian center back.

“I think we can do better than in past years, I really want to play and go to the quarterfinals, then we’ll see what happens. The important goal is not to concede, then we have many great players who can score.”
