You have read my mind,
even though it could be argued if Amelia don’t deserve GK spot after his brilliant performances, he’s in great form, at the moment.
and I would prefer Urby on left back instead of Mesbah, Urby has been in the team for a longer time than Mesbah, and therefore I think it would be wise to use him instead, and we all know he plays best in that LB position, even though he hasn’t been used there much.
my opinion : )
Forza Rossoneri
if we employ this tactic I can see us winning 3-1,
1 by each striker : ) and V. Persie is on fire, but of course hoping Bommel locks him completely down.

I don’t want Robinho in the team, to be honest,
I have no idea how I will react if he proves to be a disaster once again, I know we’ve been in short, in terms of attacking options, but I think it is about time, that Allegri shows Robinho, that a player needs to be playing great to be in the line-up in this legendary Club.
Forza Rossoneri
February 14th, 2012 on 7:53 pm
Its that time of the year where everyone wants to become a coach/manager and start fielding his imaginary XI and predictions beyond control making the rounds. I for one would like to remain calm and watch the game minute by minute and will be happy with any result because it’s good football which is what i want to win.Milan and Arsenal have their own problems but that should not deter the motivation of the playing XI on the field of play.Give it your best shot but before that i say this game is of Tacticians having seen Allegri do the worst with his available resources and Wenger taking risks with his younger prodigy’s ,this game will be won by the ones with a strong mental approach.Milan if they play as a team will be a safe bet but if they go on their “PLAY TO IBRA” strategy might prove fatal. Put your best possible XI and approach the game as a TEAM.I personally would prefer “ABATE MEXES NESTA MESBAH donning the defense, TSILVA in the holding role with NOCERINO & KEVIN besides him. that way we play 5 solid defenders while SES PATO & MAXI go for the kill. with support from Kevin & Nocerino. Give SES a free role .Let him play as he wants lurking around the opponents box. Maxi & Pato firing left right and occasionally from the center.Let Ibra Robinho/Urby & Ambro be the subs. With the team i put up we have speed strength and stamina which is vital for a CL game and that too against Arsenal who have lightning speed on their flanks with a quality finisher. Best of Luck!!!!!!!!!!
February 14th, 2012 on 8:54 pm
I think we have to start Robinho, he has the experience. SES hasn’t been playing that great, remember goals in a lot of cases are results of being in the right place at the right time. Plus SES has no defense, no way will he start.
Maybe we’ll get a shock and see Emanuslon start at LB, he is faster than Mesbah and Antonini.
Pato will only come on if we need a goal, and he is a nice piece to have in our back pocket for this match.
February 15th, 2012 on 3:08 am
Bihno experience amounts to squat if he can’t finish he finds himself in the easiest of positions but can’t seem to convert Emmanuelson as a left back no way his position is midfield it would be a waste of time at the back Mesbah will be tested tomorrow it’s his first European game we’ll see if he makes the cut and SES could be the trump card a gamble that could or could not pay dividence I wish the team best of luck tomorrow
February 14th, 2012 on 9:11 pm
this way both of our central defenders will be slow and van Persie will be fed through pas5es and Mexes is bound to make mistakes at some point.Besides Silva’s best position is CB so why waste him.I believe or rather hope van Bommel brings out his A game and owns Ramsey and Arteta with a bit of help from Nocerino and Urby/Boa whoever plays.Abate hopefully will deal with chamberlain.
Walcott…as stupid as he is,he still might create problems for us on the left flank.Leaving Ibra out is out of question.maxi plays one game and suddenly he is a starter???
I hope Ibra and pato play upfront but,I think Pato will come on as a sub.
February 14th, 2012 on 9:37 pm
Ibra himself claims he is not motivated to win CL. how in the world does anyone expect him to perform. As it is Milan are not combining well as a Team, now that we have Ibra who really doesn’t perform in big games esp CL. why not give him a break. If Milan gets that we can’t win without a certain player ,then the match is lost before we have played.Even a new born kid knows that when Ibra plays Allegri’s tactics will just be to feed him with long and lengthy passes.any brakes on already slow midfield then Milan is doomed,If one can go by experience then Seedorf is the only one licensed to play for 90+ minutes along with Nesta.Milan has been losing to EPL opponents for a long time because of that EGO of Milan family, We are the GREATEST CLUB IN THE WORLD and we will win no matter who we play against. It’s again ALLEGRI vs WENGER .It’s all my opinion and it doesn’t really matter…..
February 14th, 2012 on 11:26 pm
IBra has a strong record against Arsenal. Seedorf can’t play for 90 minutes. Allegri tactics are that? I don’t see it. I’m sorry. People have bashed on Allegri enough. It’s getting tiring.
February 14th, 2012 on 8:00 pm
Allegri seems like he is trying to lose this match before it even begins. The recent developments suggest that El-Shaarawy, Boateng and Mesbah will not in fact start. El-Shaarawy because Robinho is going to start instead, Boateng because he hasn’t played in over a month, and Mesbah because Luca Antonini is the best LB on the planet.
Antonini can’t cover a paper bag, let alone Theo Walcott. I understand Mesbah is a new addition, but he may work, whereas we have much more experience suggesting Antonini will NOT work.

Alleri must used Thiago Silva as a Holding midfielder along with MVB. I would later sub Nocerino for Boateng or vice versa. And I would sub Robinho for Pato and give SES the freedom to play from deep.
We need to play a good defensive game and counter attacking football. Arsenal need to score so they will be pressing hard!
Thiago Silva is a good passer and therefore can link up with the front line!
Milan ojective is to NOT to concede any away goals! This will make it harder for Arsenal in the return leg if the score ends 1-0 or 2-0 in favor of Milan because they will have attack.
Forza Milan!!!!!!!
February 14th, 2012 on 8:18 pm
Suicide to put Silva in the midfield, he needs to sweep up behind Nesta. It would be ill-advised to start Nesta next to Mexes when they haven’t played much together at all. Especially since Arsenal forwards are so pace-y having two slow center backs is not a good idea.
If you see it as Silva dropping back to be a third center back, then I have to ask why someone like MvB is also in that lineup since he would then be playing out of position, and there wouldn’t be enough cover on the wings as Van Bommel isn’t mobile enough.
February 14th, 2012 on 8:17 pm

February 14th, 2012 on 8:49 pm
At the moment Arsenal are favorites for this clash, they WILL dominate posession, but they do not shoot, much like Barca..so we should play accordingly..pull back and attack on counter..that way it doesn’t matter even if Zambrotta plays, Walcott won’t have space to run into..you can even put TS33 as a holding midfielder alongside van Bommel and Nocerino, and sub him for Nesta if he’s yet not fully fit, van Bommel back to his natural position, and Emanuelson comes off the bench for Nesta (since he played last few matches)Boateng behind the strikers to give much needed boost both ways..and put Robinho alongside Ibra as we need some speed for the counter..Pato on for Robihno, I would play Pato from the start, but not sure if he’s fit.
As long as we play zone defense 20-30m from our goal we’ll do just fine..
I would be happy if Milan won with 1:0.
February 14th, 2012 on 8:50 pm
This is my formation based on last weeks performances:
4-3-1-2
Abate – Nesta – Silva – Mesbah
Emannuelson – Ambrosini – Nocerino
—- Boateng—–
Ibrahimovic – Shaarawy
Boateng helps the midfield flow and has a great instict towards goal
Emmanuelson with his speed, tackling skill, great vision over play as we saw against Udinese.
February 14th, 2012 on 8:58 pm
It’s not wise to switch Silva out of CB position. He’s best as a CB. We have the players to play as a holding midfield. Van Bommel for one.
February 14th, 2012 on 9:14 pm
People shd fast n pray for this team cos i don’t feel comfortable with this squad.
February 14th, 2012 on 9:23 pm
The squad seems fine. Recover players are back. Boateng is back.
February 14th, 2012 on 9:23 pm
I understand that you would like mesbah to be in the line up, but you don’t realize that he is the worst player currently in milan. He only knows to play with left foot.Every single shot from him goes to the keeper. He doesn’t know how to give the ball where there is need. You can preview the match between milan and lazio and you will see that. From 20 shots 19 of them finished in the goalkeepers hand. That’s very very bad. That’s the reason I think Allegri should play with this starting line up:
Abbiati
Abate Nesta Thiago Zambro
MVB
NOCERINO BOATENG
ROBINHO
IBRA PATO
OR THIS
ABBIATI
ABATE NESTA THIAGO ZAMBRO
MVB NOCERINO
BOATENG SEEDORF
ROBINHO

February 14th, 2012 on 10:21 pm
Why not let the coach do his job and stop complainin about one player or the other.Lets all just hope they are on top of their game.Best of luck
February 14th, 2012 on 10:26 pm
I think Allegri will opt for a more defensive 11 for the first leg as it is important not to concede more than to score. This is what I hope he will start with.
———–Abbiati————-
Abate—Nesta—T.Silva—Zambro
————-Mvb—————
—–Kpb————-Seedorf—
————-SES—————
—-Pato/Binho—Ibra———-
Both Mvb and Seedorf can sit back help the defence out and just spray the ball around the middle while Kpb runs up and down attacking and defending doing a bit of both just cause he can! I think this is a good lineup for tomorrow as it is balanced and has enough pace and scoring ability to catch them on the counter!
Nocerino would be better to start in the second leg where we dont have to worry about the away goal as much.
February 14th, 2012 on 10:33 pm
I could careless of the formation as long as we go up by 2 or 3 goals, and don’t let them score, then i’d be happy.
February 14th, 2012 on 11:22 pm
I dont care all that much either its just that I hope Allegri can avoid silly little mistakes like playing Seedorf in the CAM postion or starting with 3/4 of the midfielders as Mvb, Ambro and seedorf or even worse both these catastrophies at the same time! and other things like selecting antonini over Zambro/Mesbah fo LB or Bonera in Partnering Silva instead of Nesta/Mexez. I Allegri can avoid these mistakes then we have no problem in beating Arsenal no matter what the throw at us.

I firmly disagree wit Pete this time
I think its a superb decision to start Antonini ‘cos of his experience, this crucial match Mesbah is new to the team. Also gud not startin Boateng he comes on for seedorf. We are used to criticizing luca while he plays his heart out for the club, its a shame
I think its boring to write line ups @this stage but imma make an exception

his experience of getting roasted by pacy wingers??
February 15th, 2012 on 4:00 pm
It’s only experience if you change something or if you learn something. Antonini was burned for pace by players from Alexi Sanchez last year to the most infamous out of position moment, for the goal against Tottenham.
Antonini hasn’t improved defensively, nor does he have the pace to keep up. He doesn’t have the positional awareness to not get beaten on the counterattack, and will most likely be chasing the ball throughout the game.
Mesbah might do that as well, don’t get me wrong, but for me, Antonini is an auto-mistake.

Why many want to play with defensive technique of Silva as DM … nahh the breaker job & ball distribution is done fine by Van Bommel plus he had rest at the weekend… Silva should deal with RVP We are at San Siro not Emirates remember Arsenal are not a very compact team, they have fast wingers & RVP agreed but I believe Mesbah can have better of Walcott & Abate better of Ox-Chamberlian… plus we need to score goals so should be attacking minded I prefer 4-3-1-2 Abbiati Abate Mexes Silva Mesbah Nocerino Van Bommel Boateng El Sharawaay Ibra & Pato ! why are we all giving arsenal more respect than it deserves, arsenal just scraped through the qualifiers against udinese, the team we managed to beat last game even with the hord of injuries, its that mentality that the media gives you that english football is stronger, however this year only 2 english teams are present in the final 16,Arsenal is not a spectacular squad right now, especially with Gervinho in Afcon.Milan are still arguably the strongest team in italy in terms of the players we have, all we have to do is not do our usual blunder of selecting experience over youth(like seerdof and Zambrotta who virtually make a mistake on the ball every time they get it)We can just put them on and trust that they will show a flash of brillaince from 10 years ago(which the do sometimes but rarely),One mistake against a team that specialises in counter attacking football like arsenal, and they will skin us alive like man untd 2 seasons ago.i think stephan el shaaraway is excellent and full of energy, his finishing is clinical, and close control spectacular,i would definetly start with him,as well as emmunaulson, whos clearly proven his more than just a sub with that pace.I think mesbah is okay,he just needs time to gel into the plying style of milan more,if we play antonini,it will be a repeat of tottonham and lennon, but this ime it will be walcott……I say theres a slim chance arsenal will beat us at home this time round, all we have to o,is be defensive at hme like we were with barca at camp nou and hit the with our youthful counter, then wen away,we attack them with everything! forza Milan! and goodluck to napoli against the blues!
