AC MILAN have secured the services of Montelongo.
il Corriere dello Sport reports on Tuesday that the Rossoneri have made another purchase, and after Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Marco Amelia, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Mario Amelia, Bruno Montelongo will join Allegri’s side.
It appears that Milan negotiated over the player few hours after the Trofeo Luigi Berlusconi, in dinner with River Plate’s director Paco Casal, and Adriano Galliani convinced the club to sell the player.
‘Trez could move to Milan’
Report: Abate set for Milan exit
Montelongo, 22-year-old midfielder, 1.83 m (6 ft 0 in), joined the Uruguayan River Plate in 2007 and since then he played 39 official matches and scored three goals for his side.
His signing means Ignazio Abate will leave the club, most likely to move to Fiorentina or Genoa.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! i refused the ide to loan / sell Abate!!! F U uncle fester!!!! are u in love with the oldies?! sell those stupid old players like kalaze, janku, oddo, or gattuso!!! but not Abate!!!! FFFF!!!!
August 24th, 2010 on 3:01 pm
He most be a great player.
August 24th, 2010 on 3:02 pm
Montelongo can also play as a rightback plus he’s got the italien and the uruguayen nationality. So i think that this is an really good signing, but its sad for Abate
August 24th, 2010 on 3:10 pm
that what i hate from milan management. collecting oldies is included on their annual plans, besides recruiting free-agent players of course. lol!!!!
what an idiot. if milan really loans out Abate and keeps oldies like oddo/gattuso, i would say bye bye to milan.
August 24th, 2010 on 3:14 pm
I don’t care if he have an italian passport or not. Abate is more usefull and important than those old players who already past their prime time! F Milan! I’m so happy when they signed amelia, sokratis, and boateng. But now they’re droped the ball again!
August 24th, 2010 on 3:17 pm
Abate is young and speedy.
but defence, cross and brain are poor.
he is not Milan-class Player.
but…Montelongo?Who?
August 24th, 2010 on 3:25 pm
His defence are poor? and then why Leo always prefer him in the right back last season than Oddo or Zambro? even Tassotti praise him that Abate plays like Cafu!
Also, his cross are poor? what the F are u talking about?! he got an award for the most accurate crossing in 2008/2009! even though, he’s more able to do a crossing than Gattuso, Oddo, or Janku.
August 24th, 2010 on 3:34 pm
Oh noo, nooo,,,this is not correct to be done leave him but if necessary loan him to genoa.this is one of the major problems that affect milan last season unavailability of good substitudes.can’t we sells those old, idiot and useless players like borriello, kaladze, gattuso & jankulovski? And for this montelongo’s signing i wish him a great carrier at milan.
August 24th, 2010 on 3:35 pm
abate sucks anyway, he cant cross, he cant dribble he cant defend. his only attribute is speed. i say sell him. i love milan youth but abate is simply not of a milan kind. fossatti verdi are the future of the club
August 24th, 2010 on 3:38 pm
Easy now, Abate is not a Milan-class player. Maybe if he play RM he succeed but we don’t have such position right now and he sucks when he plays RB and RW. So don’t get too excited. If you’re gonna say bye bye to Milan for this you better do it, shame on you and fans like you.
August 24th, 2010 on 3:42 pm
i believe allegri has planned for milan’s future as well…
August 24th, 2010 on 4:01 pm
please someone guide me who the heck is this player.
August 24th, 2010 on 5:05 pm
WHO???Another Mathías Cardaccio???A crap player that we never see him play??Montelongo an unknown 22-year-old midfielder who will be our new ball-boy with a transfer fee that we never know how cost it and who really take the money!if you want to sell abate to fiorentina negotiote to exchange him with jovetic or de silvestri.if you want to sell him to genoa take bocchetti or go to FUCK your self Galliani!!!!Im sick with all of these!!Buy what milan NEED!!!Dzeko-Criscito-G.Rossi
August 24th, 2010 on 5:23 pm
Good, but not at the cost of Abate leaving.
Abate is raw,and could be of use.
August 24th, 2010 on 5:44 pm
Abate sucks. He is not good, he can just run fast. He is the worse primavera player i’ve seen
August 24th, 2010 on 6:17 pm
if anyone knos about him pls get us the information other than height and weight of MONTELONGO . .
does anyone knows how he plays? is he fast? gud technique? etc etc etc!!
August 24th, 2010 on 6:19 pm
Abate only real worth was as a squad player still he is good enough not to brushed aside for some another player billed as being the new cafu hello milan don’t you remember felipe and grimi. If we got de silvestre or bocchetti in return than it would have been a worth while deal for the moment you have to question what G and B are thinking.
If we were going to buy a Uruguayan player why not fucile or caceres they would have been more affective down the flanks.
August 24th, 2010 on 6:32 pm
i dont understand people who wants abate that bad. Man is not Milan quality. All he has is speed, can’t defend, dribble and cross passes to strikers. i hope this new kid is good
August 24th, 2010 on 7:34 pm
i honestly dont understand those who complain about Milan’s management…Let me tell u:
DO you think that Milan actually WANTED to keep kaladze and jankulovski? it was the player’s refusal to leave…
Just like last year when milan told Kalac & Oddo to leave, but oddo refused…
People….think before u comment…For FUCK SAKE !!!
August 24th, 2010 on 8:05 pm
if abate goes i will excange him with bocchetti or loan him to genoa to get more expericnes and wat the hell is about this player sign for milan name Montelongo went did this happen or this is ball shit i swaer i saw Galliani in barcalona looking for ibra wat do you think about this news this is a big lies to all milan fans and they are liying to ther salfs
August 24th, 2010 on 8:22 pm
keep it cool guys!! i have to agree with all of you. abate maybe not great or milan-class player. even though he can be useful to the squad, but if we can exchange him with bocchetti than i’ll do it! about the oldies, especially those “arrogant-stubborn who refuse to leave” oddo, janku and kaladze pricks, all i care they can rot in hell. cause i’m sure allegri won’t use them even for the coppa.
August 24th, 2010 on 9:27 pm
thus, they get free salary… OMG!
August 25th, 2010 on 12:27 am
Some of you don’t think before you post. It’s absolutely embarrassing. Do you even know anything about football? Milan wanted to sell Kaladze and Jankulovski but they refuse to leave. And on top of that, it would cost more to cancel their contracts. It could cost us 10-12 million. Use your brain or shut up. And as far as Abate, I saw an article stating that he would stay on Milannews.it.
http://www.milannews.it/?action=read&idnotizia=32702
And some of you should show a bit more respect to Montelongo. I’ve seen him play in the Copa Sudamericana and was quite impressed. If you’re going to be ignorant, don’t post at all.
August 25th, 2010 on 1:02 am
Hey Giancarlo, i’m happy that Milan bring another young player, but not with the cost of kick out Abate from the team! if Milan want to regenerate the team, than don’t kick out any talented young players like him. He’s got speed and good crosing, 2 factor that Oddo, Janku, Kalaze, or Gattuso even don’t have anymore. And he’s still young so he can develope more and more mature in the future. For this Montelengo player, a lot of people in here too don’t know shit about him. If his really good than it’s okay, but if not than Milan management can kiss my sorry ass for kick out Abate!
August 25th, 2010 on 2:28 am
@Master, are you kidding me good crossing? Did you see him play in season 2009-10 for milan, he only made one assist, and his crosses were so bad!!! I totally agree with you Giancarlo!
August 25th, 2010 on 4:53 am
We should hold on before signing Ibra and sign Torres next summer when Liverpool fail to qualify for champions league
August 25th, 2010 on 5:24 am
Hey Andriy, it’s not his fault if the striker can’t make a goal from his assist. And that his 1st season for playing regular after 6 season! yes, 6 season loaned by the management. Also you can’t deny that he play more more impresive than Gattuso, Janku, or Oddo who can’t even make a single good assist!
August 25th, 2010 on 5:26 am
Abate will be a great player in 3 or 4 years.. in same age as Antonini…
If he go,he should better go on loan and back when those oldies go..
I played Abate in Pro Evolution Soccer.. he’s good as RB or RM.. but in early season he refuse to play as Right Back
August 25th, 2010 on 5:28 am
I hope things like this (loaned-out or sell youngster and get back them when good and older) not happen to Maldini jr.. Next 3 years he’ll be 17 (Christian Maldini) and maybe as good as Young Paolo..
August 25th, 2010 on 6:44 am
i just agree with Giancarlo, Leo is using Abate because he don’t have another option, maybe he thinks he still can use Abate’s speed but nothing else,he became Milan big hole on right side..and also for oldies..yeah..they are too stubborn to leave we must be wait 1-2 seasons again then kick them..
August 25th, 2010 on 9:16 am
hei…who is montelongo????
August 25th, 2010 on 12:32 pm
who is he?i prefer ibrahim afellay from psv..he will become free agent next season..so milan please faster to snap the creative midfielder or in other words the new kaka.
August 25th, 2010 on 1:54 pm
@Master, Is true he is better then Janku, Leonardo choose him because oddo was injured. And look at oddo’s age 34 and abate is 23, and why do you compare abate with gatusso, gatusso is a defensive midfielder not a winger… Abate should learn how to cross, and score goals what he should scored… I hope he will improve…
August 25th, 2010 on 3:06 pm
who is montolongo?without knwin his cost plce
August 25th, 2010 on 3:11 pm
good signing but unknown
August 25th, 2010 on 3:24 pm
pliz we need a news striker lyk ibra or edin z
August 26th, 2010 on 1:08 am
i think that we should sign for montelongo but at the same time we must keep abate cuz we really need him an addition to we play for many champions and we want players who are ready to play the high matches and give 100% of their qualities.
